Morgan Sindall is a major construction and regeneration group in the UK employing over 5,700 people working on everything from small fit-outs to infrastructure projects and large commercial and industrial buildings. Their £120 million Smithfield project in Manchester includes offices, a listed building, two hotels and affordable housing.
UK Fire Training has been involved with Morgan Sindall for over 5 years and has provided bespoke fire training and consultancy services. Courses have been delivered at site locations, sometimes in demanding conditions as well as at regional and head office sites.
The Morgan Sindall Group also includes Lovell with offices in many UK locations. UK Fire Training have delivered bespoke Fire Marshal and Extinguisher courses for all Lovell sites and a long term relationship has been underpinned by a tailored reporting system and a reminder system to ensure that Lovell staff training certificates never go out of date.
The diversity of Morgan Sindall sites has led to training that has taken account of unique fire hazards and issues including ever changing means of escape, integration with sub-contractors fire safety arrangements and the need for effective fire safety in high rise and sub-surface projects.
The need to take account of HSG 168 “Fire Safety in Construction” has been a key factor in providing relevant training for Morgan Sindall and Lovell.
