Fire Safety Training For New Staff

First day information and instructions concerning health and safety in the workplace, and in particular including fire safety, should be given on the first morning of work for every new member of staff (or at an appropriate time for shift workers).

Providing information
It is the duty of all employees to provide such information as is necessary to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health and safety at work of their employees, including fire safety.

Staff should each be given written information on:
(1) any risks to their health and safety and any hazards present their workplace;
(2) the company policy on fire safety;
(3) the fire precautions and preventive measures provided by the company for their safety;
(4) the means of escape;
(5) the means of the warning of the outbreak of fire;
(6) the means provided for fighting fire.
