Fire Safety Management


Aimed At:
This training is designed for senior staff who are required to provide and maintain good fire safety practices and standards where they work..

Content:

The course consists of:

• Legislation – Health & Safety at Work Act, Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations, RRO (Fire Safety), Health & Safety (Safety Signs & Signals) Regulations

• Fire Safety Poles – Competent person, Responsible person, Landlord, tenant/occupier, Fire Marshal, Fire Safety Manager

• Fire Risk Assessment – Overview of the requirements, What is a Fire Risk assessment, Why carry one out, When to re-assess.

• Staff Training and Drills – What training needs to be done, how often, pre-planning (evacuation routes, muster points, communications, shelter etc).

• Testing and Maintenance – Fire Alarm Systems, Emergency Lighting Systems, Fire Extinguishers, Fire Doors and Hold Open Devices, Escape Routes, Emergency Exits and Emergency Devices, Reducing Unwanted Fire Alarms.

• Safety Signs – what, where and why.

• Record Keeping – Fire Log Book, Control on Site, Hot Work Permits, Isolating Systems.


Outcome:
On completion of this training session, delegates will have a clear understanding of overall fire safety management issues within their workplace. All delegates receive a comprehensive course handbook.

Duration: 1 Day (6 ½ hours)

Qualification: IFE approved certificate of attendance
