This programme was created for employees who may be given the responsibilities of Fire Marshals (or Fire Wardens) at their place of work.

Content:

The course consists of:

• Fire precautions regulations/legislations

• Chemistry of fire and how fires spreads

• Common causes of fire

• Safety features within buildings

• Action on discovering a fire

• Calling the Fire Service

• Hazard spotting/hazard reduction

• Fire Notices

• Evacuation procedures

• Evacuating people with special needs

• Liasing with Fire Controllers/Fire Service

• Daily and Weekly Fire Checks

• Record Keeping

• Staff induction

• Dealing with bomb threats

• Fire extinguishers: Practice and theory

• Emergency Planning

• Site tour with review of Fire Safety measures and discussions

• Live Fire for extinguisher training session.

Outcome:
Having attended this training, your staff will be able to appreciate fire safety issues at work and make a positive contribution to fire safety. All candidates will be given documentation and access to an on-line fire safety library.

Duration: 1 Day

Qualification: IFE approved certificate of attendance
